From July 11, Mitsubishi Pencil launched the "Jetstream Ocean Plastic" single-color type, which uses "post-consumer plastic" recycled from marine plastic waste collected in Japan and empty disposable contact lens cases for the ballpoint pen shaft. We have started accepting orders as a novelty-only product that takes into consideration.
This product is the first eco-friendly ballpoint pen in the stationery industry to be certified as Eco Mark Product Category No. 164 "Products made from recycled marine plastic waste".
The shaft material of the main body is a ballpoint pen that uses almost 100% post-consumer materials, including recycled resin using marine plastic waste and recycled resin using empty contact lens cases.
The color is light blue, which is an image of the calm sea, and the matte texture makes it a minimalist design that fits well in everyday life. The clip is designed with the image of "Mobius strip", which symbolizes circulation and regeneration, with the hope that people who pick up the ballpoint pen will become interested in environmental considerations.
How about thinking about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from familiar items such as stationery through these corporate initiatives?
