In 2020, many people may say that their lives have changed completely and they are thinking about the future more than ever.

At such times, everyone should think, "I want to spend my future fulfilling days."

This time, we interview Wakana, a muse who works hard for the future. What is she thinking about, and how does she approach her work?

ーーFirst of all, please introduce yourself!

Wakana, 31 years old, changed jobs in September last year and now works for a telecommunications service company and is in charge of marketing. We promote synergies between our own media and group companies. I am also in charge of campaign planning.

ーーWhat did you do before changing jobs?

Our business will not change much. I decided to change jobs because I wanted to step up.

I have experienced three job rotations so far, but I feel that I am constantly growing.

ーーWhat do you consider important when changing jobs?

Choose based on annual income, environment where you can grow yourself, and whether you are in an environment where you can take on new challenges .

I'm not suited to doing the same work all the time, and I'm always looking for efficiency and change. Therefore, an environment where I can try new things is very important to me, and I would like to continue to advance my career.

Annual income later! I don't want my life to be full of work, and I want to make the most of my time outside of work. I think we need money for that.

ーーTell us about your weekday schedule!

I basically work remotely, and I work at home or in a shared office contracted by my company. Flexibility is allowed, so it's great that you can work from your own time.

I try to cook as much as possible for my health. But basically I only eat myself, so it's easy to make (laughs).

After leaving work, I enjoy my time alone by watching dramas and movies on Netflix!

ーーDid you have any difficulties during your career change?

I think there is a corona disaster, but even if you join a company midway and start working, you will already be working remotely two days after joining the company. That's why I was worried because I didn't know who to ask about things I didn't understand.

ーーAre you used to it now?

I ask for a meeting time with my mentor once a week. She is very easy to talk to, and I can talk about various things there, so my anxiety is resolved, and it helps me relax.

ーーWhen do you feel rewarding at work?

I feel rewarded when my opinion is reflected. Now, I'm excited to think that I'm also involved in a page that many people are looking at.

ーーDo you have any worries about your work?I'm the type of person who thinks back and wonders if my actions and responses were correct (laughs).

Because of the increased amount of written exchanges due to the corona crisis, I often think about whether I was able to speak politely so as not to make the other person uncomfortable, or whether the writing was curt.

ーーHow do you get rid of work fatigue and stress?

motion.

I go to the gym and I've decided to run 12km every week to keep my body moving. Then you can release your fatigue and her stress. I also go to Pilates once a week, so I feel refreshed.

Also, I've heard that it's better to diversify where stress is released, so while being careful about the coronavirus, I'm consciously creating opportunities to meet and talk with friends.

ーーWhat do you do on your days off?

Golf has always been my passion. I go to the round once every two months.

I also go to cafes and read books.

ーーWhat kind of book do you read?

I have a lot of business books. I thought I could use it in my work.

When I turned 30, I felt a strong desire to change jobs and work even harder. In this kind of time, I have more to think about how to work and what to do in the future.

In the future, in order to be able to live alone and have a fulfilling private life, it is important to raise my annual income first, and to do that, I need to acquire skills, so I am inputting various things.

ーーWhat do you value most in your work?

It's about building trust.

Especially when I am in a position to ask for work, I think it is very important to have a good relationship with the people I work with. If I am in trouble, they may help me, so I am conscious of building a good relationship on a daily basis.

ーーTell us why you became a working muse

It was because I wanted to challenge new things and get excited, and because I was interested in sending out messages from myself and wanted to improve my ability to do so.

ーーWhat do you want to challenge or want to do in the future?

I want to acquire more management skills. I think that in order to increase your annual income, you must either become a specialist in something, or become a manager. When I sorted out what I could do, I thought it would be difficult to become a specialist, so I would like to be in a position to develop people with a position someday.

Then travel abroad! I believe that communicating with the local people at the destination and experiencing the culture will lead to self-growth, so before COVID-19, I used to go there quite a bit even by myself. So I want to go again when the corona calms down.

Wakana says with a smile, "If you have a strong sense of self, you won't be afraid to change jobs!" She was a Reiwa OL full of vitality, working towards her goal of fulfilling her life and taking action on what she should do now.
