Many times, the skin of the body starts getting marks of streaks or stripes different from the color of the skin, these are called stretch marks. Usually they are more on the stomach, but they can also occur on the skin of any part of the body like hands, near elbows, calves of feet, thighs etc. Women are mainly worried about this. The male section is also not untouched by the problem of these marks. Even after exercising too much or not doing the right exercise, some marks start forming on the body. Sometimes stretch marks also occur in large parts of the body. If these are not taken care of, then this problem starts increasing.
Information about stretch marks
Reason of Stretch Marks:
The composition of the skin consists of three layers, the first layer is the epidermis. This is the outermost skin, also called epidermis. After this, the inner layer is called dermis in the middle and the lowest layer is hypodermis. Mainly stretch marks occur in the middle layer. Stretch marks are caused by stretching of any fiber or cell in the middle layer, the dermis.
This problem has become common in women after pregnancy. After delivery from the operation, the chances of getting stretch marks are high. Due to the operation, many stripes and scars are left on the abdomen. These are called stretch marks. It becomes very difficult for women to erase these marks.
A research has found that the main cause of stretch marks in women is genetic. If your mother was also troubled by the problem of stretch marks during her pregnancy, then you are also 84% likely to have stretch marks.
Another reason for having stretch marks is a sudden decrease or increase in weight. Due to the sudden increase or decrease of weight, the veins of the abdomen start getting stretched, due to which the blood circulation of that area is affected, and light colored marks start forming on the skin of that place.
Stretch marks also occur due to changes in genetic hormones or sudden changes in body position.
As the skin stretches, collagen (collagen – a fibrous found in bone) weakens and the body's hormone production cycle gets disrupted, leading to scarring in the topmost layer of the epidermis. Initially these marks are light pink or red in color but after some time they become bright light colored stripes giving rise to stretch marks.
The lack of essential nutrients in the food also affects the formation and growth of cells, which increases the stretch and marks or stretch marks on the outer skin of the body.
