It was expanded by Shri Krishna on the request of Yudhishthira. Krishna said that it liberates you from sins, listen to its story:

In the mythological era, there was a majestic king named Muchukunda, he had a beautiful daughter, whose name was Chandrabhaga. She was married to Shobhan, the son of King Chandrasen. Shobhan was physically very weak. He could not live without food even for a single time.

Once both of them went to the kingdom of Muchukunda king. At the same time, Rama Ekadashi was the date of fasting. Chandrabhaga got worried after hearing this, because even animals cannot eat food, grass etc. on Ekadashi in her father's kingdom, so it is a different matter for humans. She told this to her husband Shobhan and said that if you want to eat something, then you will have to go to some other state away from this state and take food. Hearing the whole thing, Shobhan decided that he would fast on Rama Ekadashi, after which he would leave it to God.

Ekadashi fasting has started. Shobhan's fast was passing with great difficulty, the night passed while fasting, but till the next sunrise, Shobhan's life did not survive. He was cremated with rituals and after that his wife Chandrabhaga started living in her father's house.

On the other hand Shobhan gets the merit of fasting on Ekadashi and after death he becomes the king of a very grand Devpur, which has unlimited wealth and opulence. One day a universe named Som Sharma passes near that Devpur and recognizes Shobhan and asks him how he got all this opulence. Then Shobhan tells him that all these are the glory of Rama Ekadashi, but all these are unstable, please tell me the way to stabilize it. After listening to Shobhan's whole story, Som Sharma leaves him and goes to meet Shobhan's wife and tells the truth of Shobhan's Devpur. Chandrabhaga is very happy to hear this and tells Som Sharma that you introduce me to your husband. This will also give you merit. Then Som Sharma tells her that all this Aishwarya is unstable. Then Chandrabhaga says that she will stabilize all this with her virtues.

Som Sharma makes Chandrabhaga divine through his mantras and knowledge and sends it to Shobhan. Shobhan is very happy to see his wife. Then Chandrabhaga tells him that I have observed Gyaras fast for the last eight years regularly. I dedicate to you the fruits of all my lifetime virtues. As soon as he does this, the opulence of the city of God becomes stable. And everyone starts living happily.
